Down To Earth Community Farm is set in the heart of Southampton. It aims to offer people the ability to interact with animals and the natural environment in a farm like setting. We are based on a 5 acre site made up of a farm, woodland area, growing area, pond, and a fully equipped building suitable for a range of indoor activities. We offer activities for vulnerable adults and other groups on set days. We organise fund raising and open days to the general public, and have facilities available to hire. Please see the appropriate pages for details.

Autumn Open Day: Saturday 6th october

New arrival at the farm

Picture
We are please to introduce  Myrtle the Blue Tongue Skink. She looks a bit like a snake with legs. As described in the name this lizard has a vivid blue tongue, this is a defence mechanism to fool predators into thinking she is poisonous, and also it gives them a bit of a surprise when a big blue tongue pops out. She is still settling in and getting used to her new surroundings, and  is becoming braver by the day, we think she will become a firm favourite at the farm.

We are open Saturdays

Friends of Down to Earth

Who are we?
The Association of Friends of Down to Earth was
set up in October 2002 to support the work of Down to Earth  Community Farm. It
acts as a focal point for our volunteers and supporters who are essential to the
running of our community farm and garden. There are three part time staff
employed by the Oasis academy and a group of volunteers who work to look after
the animals and gardens and to run the activities provided. Friends of Down To
Earth organize fund raising events and help to arrange funding for the centre
which is always desperately needed. We also help with open days
and on a Saturday when we open to the public.

If you would like to get involved with the work of the group or support
